Day Two!

The kids danced and used egg shakers while singing along to Raffi's "All I Really Need," "Baby Beluga," and others.

We used the chalkboards and different counting items to represent the numbers 1 through 3.

Then we had some fun drawing on the chalkboards!

We read a book called Knuffle Bunny, by Mo Willems. In the story Trixie loses her beloved "Knuffle Bunny" and the family works together to find him. We used glue and fabric to make a "blanky" for the baby dolls in our home center.

J shared the family tree that he decorated at home!

I'll try to include the names of the books we read in class. The children love these and would love the opportunity to read them again at home. Most of them have come from the local library, so feel free to look the up! Another book we read today: The Day the Teacher Went Bananas, by James Howe.

Our first day at PreK

Today was our first day of PreK! We stayed very busy and had a great time. We started with a Wild About PreK theme which was quite appropriate! They had fun with - animal songs and sounds, animal cracker snacks with "blue water hole" icing, parrot artwork with glue and scissors, and we read Brown Bear Brown Bear What Do You See? by Bill Martin Jr. The kids loved music time and recess! We also learned the school rules after reading David Goes to School, by David Shannon. All of the children were polite and are practicing their manners when waiting their turn and sharing. I look forward to seeing them again on Thursday.

P.S. I'm new to blogger. I'm sorry that the formating is a little off. I hope you enjoy the updates and photos!
